All HAVENS Horse feed are composed of exclusively vegetable and natural components. No animal proteins are used in the HAVENS factory for the production of feed. However with only one exception: the milk powder which is used in the Opti-GROW foal pellets.
The main ingredients are cereals, such as white and black oats, barley, corn, wheat, speltwheat, but also bran, alfalfa, linseed meal, soya and soya oil. Because we have our own purchasing department and our own laboratory, we can test the raw materials ourselves. Most of the cereals come from France and Germany and are delivered by ship.
Feed production starts a thorough selection of raw materials. They must meet strict quality requirements according to GMPplus and HACCP certification.
Each product in our range, whether it concerns now pellets, cereals, or mixtures, has its own specific food requirements, depending on use (recreation, sports or breeding), age, stress level, etc. Depending on the feed requirements for each product we develop the optimal recipe. Every horse has different needs due to breed, training intensity and other conditions. As a result they also have different needs regarding energy and other nutritional values. Our assortment covers all needs; we have the right feed for every horse or pony. Whether it is in low, medium or high training, in breeding or with a specific demand (e.g. sensitive to laminitis, colic, sweet itch). The assortment of HAVENS consists of several pellets, mueslis and mixes.
